Businesses Get a Boost From Their Website

Concern over the economy has impacted many businesses, even over the Internet, despite the growing trend to purchase goods online. But we think (and the numbers agree) that the impact on e-commerce will be much less damaging for companies that have an active online presence, providing consumers with the ability to research products and / or purchase them online.

eMarketer also published an article connecting online research to in-store sales, stating that consumers prefer online research over recommendations from friends and family. Sites they spent the most time on were typically the retail stores they purchased from.
